This is the most important thing on the page, so it is first.

What you receive from Self Bid is a preliminary, budgetary estimate based on photographs, a description and a survey. It is not a fixed price, it is not a bid you can hold us to, and it is not an offer to enter into a contract. It exists to tell you roughly what a project like yours costs, so you can decide whether to take it further.

Nobody can price building work accurately without seeing it. What is behind a wall, the state of a subfloor, what an inspector requires, what materials cost by the time we order them. All of that moves the number, sometimes a long way. A firm price comes after a site visit and is set out in a written agreement.

We aim to send an initial Self Bid estimate within 3 business days. That is a target we work to, not a guarantee.

Work begins only when there is a signed written agreement between us. Nothing on this website, and no estimate produced by it, obliges either of us to go ahead.

By submitting a Self Bid, you are telling us that:

• the information you have given us is accurate as far as you know, since an estimate built on a wrong measurement or a missing detail will itself be wrong
• you own the property, or you have the owner's permission to arrange work on it
• the photographs, video and recordings you upload are yours to send, and sending them breaks nobody else's rights
• you are at least 18 years old

You keep ownership of your photographs, video and recordings. You give us permission to use them to work out what your project involves, to prepare your estimate, and to carry out the work if you go ahead.

We will not publish a photograph of your home, or use one in our advertising, unless we ask you first and you say yes. Our Privacy Policy sets out who else sees your material and how long we keep it.

Please do not send inquiries for properties you have nothing to do with, upload anything unlawful or harmful, try to break into any part of the site, or use automated tools to flood our forms. We may refuse or remove any submission, and we may decline to work with anyone.

The photographs on this site are of our own completed work. Those photographs, the written content, and the Renomads name and logo belong to us. Please do not copy them or present them as your own work.

We hold the registrations, licenses and insurance required for the work we carry out in Iowa, and we are glad to provide the details on request. We would encourage you to ask any contractor for them.

Completed work is covered by the written warranty supplied with your contract. That warranty, not this website, is what states what is covered and for how long.

We keep this site accurate and available, but we cannot promise it is free of errors or that it never goes down. Descriptions of services, photographs of past work and general guidance are here for information, and they are not a promise about your project.

Some parts of the site rely on other companies for scheduling, forms and hosting. Where you follow a link into one of their services, their own terms apply to what happens there.

So far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of this website or from an estimate produced by it, and our total liability arising from the website is limited to what you have paid us in connection with it, which, for the website alone, is nothing.

That limit is about the website and its estimates. It does not limit our responsibility for the building work we actually carry out: that is governed by your contract with us and by Iowa law, and nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer.

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Using the site after a change means you accept the current version.

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Iowa, and any dispute about them belongs in the courts of Polk County, Iowa.
