Privacy Policy

We collect what we need to price and carry out your project, and nothing else. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and this website carries no advertising or analytics tracking of any kind.

Your photographs and recordings are stored in our private company files alongside the rest of your project paperwork, and we would ask you first before ever using a photograph of your home publicly.

It depends on what you do here.

If you use Self Bid to request an estimate, you give us your name, phone number, email address and the address of the property; a description of the project, either typed or spoken as a voice recording; photographs of the areas involved, and a video walkthrough if you record one; and your answers to a short survey about budget, timing and how you prefer to be kept informed.

If you book a consultation, you give your name, email address, phone number and chosen time to our scheduling provider.

If you apply for a job, you give your details to the company that runs our application form.

If you simply read the site, our host records ordinary web server information such as the address your request came from. Enquiry submissions are counted per address for a short period to blunt automated spam. That count is held in memory only. It is not written to any file and is not attached to your inquiry.

To work out what your project involves and what it will cost, to prepare and send your estimate, to contact you about it, and to carry out and keep records of the work if you go ahead. That is the whole list.

We do not use your information to advertise to you, and we do not sell it, rent it or trade it. Ever.

We are a small company and we run on ordinary business software. That means a handful of companies handle your information on our behalf, each for one purpose:

• Microsoft stores your project files in our private company SharePoint, and sends the emails you receive from us.
• Vercel hosts this website, and holds uploaded files briefly while they are on their way into our company files.
• Intuit (QuickBooks) holds your name and contact details as a customer record for estimating, invoicing and accounting.
• Acuity Scheduling handles consultation bookings, if you book one.
• A speech-to-text provider: if you send a voice recording or a video, it is turned into text so we can work from it. We choose providers that do not keep your recording afterwards and do not use it to train their systems.
• Anthropic: we use their Claude software to read your description, your photos and your survey answers and write a first rough draft of your estimate for us. A person at Renomads reads and corrects that draft before anything reaches you, and no price is sent to you that we have not checked ourselves. Anthropic do not use what we send them to train their systems.

Each is given only what it needs for that one job, and none of them is permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

We may also share information where we genuinely have to: with our subcontractors and suppliers so they can quote or carry out part of your project, with our accountant or insurer, or where the law requires it.

Your project material, meaning photographs, recordings, description and survey answers, is kept for 7 years as a business record, the same as the rest of a project's paperwork.

Uploaded files pass through temporary storage on their way into our company files, and are deleted from it as soon as the transfer is confirmed, usually within minutes.

The website's own record of your inquiry, which lets us see whether everything filed correctly, is deleted after 90 days. An inquiry that did not file correctly is kept until it has been put right, because otherwise we would lose track of somebody who is still owed an estimate.

If you would rather we deleted your material sooner, ask us and we will, unless we are required to keep it for tax or legal reasons.

Files are stored privately. There is no public link to your photographs or recordings. They cannot be reached by guessing an address, and they are not indexed by search engines.

The part of the website where we review inquiries requires a company sign-in, and access is limited to the people who need it.

No system is perfect and we will not pretend otherwise. If your information were ever exposed in a way that mattered, we would tell you.

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. There is no tracking pixel, no advertising network and no third-party analytics script.

While you are filling in a Self Bid, your progress is saved in your own browser so you can close the page and come back to it. That stays on your device and is not sent to us until you submit.

A cookie is set only when a member of our staff signs in to the private admin area, to keep them signed in.

You can ask us to:

• send you a copy of what we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete your photographs, recordings and inquiry
• stop contacting you

Email info@renomads.com or call 515 979 9444 and we will deal with it. We will not make you fill in a form or prove anything unreasonable and we will only check that you are who you say you are, so that we are not handing your details to somebody else.

If you tell us you would rather be contacted by text message, we will text you about your project. Reply STOP at any time and we will stop.

This site is for people arranging building work on their own property. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

If what we do changes, this page changes with it, and so does the date at the top. We will not quietly broaden what we do with your information.
